Video Auditions for out of town students
If you are an incoming UCF freshman from out of state and cannot make the audition date, you will be allowed to submit a videotape of yourself performing.
You'll need to demonstrate across the floors, basic movement combinations and advanced movement combinations. You will be evaluated on not only your technique but also your presence and demeanor as a performer. You'll also need to perform a short piece of choreography to music. You can use whatever music you like. We're mainly looking to see that you can incorporate your body into the musical phrase. It doesn't need to be the craziest, trickiest thing you've ever done. You need to look in control of your body and your performance quality at all times.
In the video, we'd prefer if you wear an all black, form fitting ensemble, preferably capris or shorts with tights so that we can see your feet and ankles.
Please send the video audition to:
UCF Department of Music
Attn: Dr. Donny Allen – Starlet Knight Auditions
4000 Central Florida Blvd.
Orlando, FL 32816-1354
After we review your video, the instructional staff will contact you about anything you might need to work on and notify you of your acceptance into the dance team.
